Alison has been a member of this team for the last 4 years and has been involved in multiple Electronic Medical Record project cycles and implementations over this time. The current focus of this role is to work to enhance the clinical adoption of existing EMR modules and support the successful implementation of the EMR Phase 2 Program which aims to make Western Health fully digital and integrated.  Alison is a Certified Health Informatician Australasia (CHIA), holds a Masters of Health Services Management and has completed a master’s level unit in Digital Health.

Dr Annie Banbury is a digital health researcher and consultant in academia and industry. She is the Head of Research at Coviu, the digital telehealth platform and a Senior Telehealth Consultant at the University of Queensland’s Centre for Online Health. Annie has a PhD in digital health and extensive experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating telehealth interventions across a range of health services and health care settings. She brings over 30 years of experience in health care. Beginning her career in public health she has worked in both Australia and the UK in a diverse portfolio of roles, including running her own consultancy. She has collaborated extensively with a range of health professionals and across health, education, social care and housing sectors. She is a passionate advocate for co-designing and developing digital interventions and technology that meet the end user’s needs, whether health professionals or consumers. Annie lives on the Far North Coast of NSW and enjoys spending her leisure time outside.

Ayushi has worked in digital health for over seven years starting her career at Deloitte Consulting, followed by Royal Children’s Hospital and the Parkville hospitals working on their implementation of electronic medical record, Epic. She is currently working with Global Health Ltd focusing on clients in the community and mental health services sector. She has a Master of Business Administration specialising in Healthcare Management from Deakin University. Her primary focus and interest lies in electronic medical records and how to use technology to improve and optimise workflows for health practitioners while reducing waste and increasing efficiency in the health system. She has recently completed short courses with RMIT University on Project Management and Digital Delivery and is currently working towards completing the SNOMED CT Foundation Course. I’ve been incredibly passionate about utilising digital health ever since I graduated with my nursing degree in 2011. My background, I worked in a large Melbourne public hospital for around 10 years as a theatre nurse and also worked as a Clinical Consultant rep for Stryker, working in almost every VIC hospital at some stage! I then moved into a more primary care role as the Business Manager of an Orthopaedic Surgeons rooms, 2 years ago. This has shown me that both aspects of healthcare, primary and acute, have such a potential for a digital transformation, to utilise our clinicians to the full potential and give the patients ownership of their health. How we manage data and how we can utilise health technology to advance our models of care is something I’d love to be involved with and work in, in the near future.

Charmaine is a Program Manager in Clinical Data and Analytics at Northern Sydney Local Health District, NSW and Senior Research Fellow at Northern Clinical School, University of Sydney. Charmaine works at the much-needed interface between clinicians, health service managers, Executives, and data analysts, engineers and scientists, ensuring that insights from the burgeoning amount of digital health data are best utilised to lead to improvements in human health within appropriate governance and privacy safeguards. On a day-to-day basis, she manages an analytics team which focuses on harnessing insights from structured and unstructured data, such as free-text and images, extracted from electronic medical record systems.

Dr Cheryl Tang started her career consulting small and medium businesses, optimising their customer experience and marketing material. She successfully assisted several companies increase their customer satisfaction, client loyalty and, subsequently, revenue. In 2012, she graduated with a Bachelor of Medical Science and Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery at The University of Melbourne. She completed her internship and Resident Medical Officer years at Bendigo Health. This allowed her to acquire a broad medical experience, including several surgical specialties, intensive care, rehabilitation and palliative care, and exposure to the unique challenges of regional/rural medicine. Dr Tang joined the Disability Medical Assessment Program as Government-Contracted Doctor in 2016. She was appointed as Lead Doctor in 2017. In this role, Dr Tang is responsible for ensuring Sonic’s national network of doctors and clinical psychologists are highly trained and deliver outstanding clinical services to Services Australia (formally the Department of Human Services). She also works in Occupational Medicine at various Sonic HealthPlus locations.

She is currently the Director of Digital Channel Management in the National COVID Vaccine Taskforce in the Australian Government Department of Health. Clara focuses on using human-centred design and engaging across the healthcare sector and the community to effectively deliver enhancements and rollout new digital systems to support the COVID-19 vaccine rollout. Clara formerly led the international program at the Australian Digital Health Agency: Leading international virtual teams, and teams internally, to deliver nine global white papers and five global summits in Canberra, Washington DC, London, New Delhi and Hong Kong SAR involving intercultural negotiations across vastly different cultural contexts. She is passionate about healthcare and social and environmental responsibility in national and international contexts – we are all global citizens! Prior to coming to digital health and project management, I was a registered nurse for 13 years with the majority of this time spent in ICU. By completing this course I hope to gain more confidence and knowledge in the digital health space and consolidate my leadership skills, meet like-minded individuals and broaden my personal and professional networks. When I’m not working my hobbies include looking for Melbourne’s best cold brew, being a plant mama and exercise (although I’m no elite athlete!)

Robyn is passionate about leveraging digital health to improve health outcomes and enhance the experience of health professionals to deliver a positive experience for both patients and their families. Having worked in healthcare for over 20 years, with a diverse background in health information management has supported significant transformational change through the implementation of ICT systems, delivering clinical benefits and business improvements. Experienced at leading Health Information, Clinical Coding, and Casemix teams, and project managing the implementation of large health datasets. Currently is the Senior Health Information Manager at Telstra Health, overseeing the data management activities for the National Cancer Screening Register (NCSR) and leads the Clinical and Health Informatics Community of Practice. Also is part of the team that won Telstra Health’s inaugural Hack for Digital Healthcare. A curious mind and knowledge seeker always interested in finding out how we can lead ourselves and others to do better.

Sam is driven by a passion for improving health outcomes and for the past 10 years has been focused on delivering complex projects and programs of work within Digital Health across Australia, New Zealand and the UK. Over this time Sam has gained experience in a wide range of specialties within digital health including PMO and release management, managed services, scrum mastering, and account management. In her previous role, Sam led the successful implementation of a Clinical EMR into one of Victoria’s largest Regional Hospitals. Sam then moved to the role of Senior Project Manager with Alcidion, where she is responsible for projects across a range of internal and external products and services involving data analytics, integration and system configuration, business process mapping, business case or strategy development and other consulting requirements. When she is not working, Sam can be found either out in the garden, planting or picking vegetables or hiking the nearest nature trail.
