Kate Renzenbrink CHIA

I’m Kate. I advocate for digital health solutions which meet the needs of consumers, nurses and midwives because this guarantees great care.

Kate is a Registered Nurse with extensive experience in acute care and aged care nursing including clinical education, general medicine, stroke, cardiothoracic, gynaecology and cancer nursing.

In addition to her Nursing background, Kate has worked in quality and safety as well as clinical advisory and governance roles in health services and with the Victorian Department of Health.

As the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Information Officer and Director of Nursing & Midwifery Informatics at Western Health, Kate ensures that Nurses and Midwives have the digital health skills to meet the challenges of contemporary practice. She holds a Bachelor of Health Informatics (Professional Honours) and is a Certified Health Informatician, Australasia as well as a member of the Australian College of Nursing CNIO Faculty.

Kate is a strong advocate for patient-centred care and consumer partnership promoting the ethical use of technology to improve equity and access to care including the use of My Health Record by consumers and clinicians.
