Karen Gibson
I work with hospitals and healthcare providers to plan and deliver digital solutions that work for them and lead to better outcomes
Karen Gibson has been committed to advancing e-health in Australia for over 20 years. With a background in program and project management and a particular interest in electronic health records and strategic use of information, Karen has led a number of major e-health projects and has consistently contributed to progression of the health informatics agenda, including as a member of the HISA Board and as a past Deputy Chair of the Standards organisation now known as Snomed International.
Karen is currently working as principal consultant with Deloitte. Previous roles include General Manager Strategic initiatives at NEHTA and Director E-Health Planning at Queensland Health. With so much change now underway in the sector, this is an exciting time for the health informatics community, and through active participation on the HISA Board Karen aims to ensure that HISA delivers increasing value to its members and continues to contribute to the advancement of health informatics in Australia.
