Dr Kudzai Kanhutu

Physician, Deputy Chief Information Officer, and digital suffragist
Dr Kudzai is an infectious diseases specialist and Deputy Chief Medical Information Officer at the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH). She spearheaded the establishment of the RMH telehealth unit which aims to save patients time and money by allowing them to access specialist services via videoconference. Her current work portfolio includes patient care, research and project management.
Career highlights include being nominated as a national Superstar of STEM 2019 alongside 59 extraordinary women in STEM; winning the RMH CEOs innovation prize 2018 and the Victorian Department of health award for excellence in culturally and linguistically diverse care 2017.
Outside of work Kudzai may variably be found dancing, weight lifting, building Lego with her kids or learning about finance. She is committed to supporting inclusion and patient autonomy as we move towards increasing digitisation in healthcare.
