Masterclass with Helen Bevan | Changing how we change
Dr Helen Bevan Leader of Large Scale Change, NHS Horizons (UK)
In this highly interactive masterclass, Helen Bevan will share perspectives, approaches and experiences from more than 30 years of leading large scale change in the National Health Service in England. Helen has supported transformation projects that have created positive outcomes for hundreds of thousands of people and is recognised for her ability to seek out and blend new ideas on change with a deep understanding of implementing change in complex systems.
During the masterclass, Helen will cover how:
- the likely success of a change initiative is mostly determined before it even starts
- the health and care organisations that do best at change and improvement are those that have a learning system
- we need to engage the leaders of both formal and informal systems if we want to make sustainable change happen
- creating a sense of belonging is a critical aspect of building a transformation team
- change efforts are far more likely to succeed if people perceive they have agency – the power and sense of permission to make change happen
- having constancy of purpose for the long haul is key to sustainable improvement
Come prepared to learn, join in and get some additional insights about leading large scale change.
