DIGITAL HEALTH INSTITUTE SUMMIT FEBRUARY & MARCH 2022

About the Summit

.

More than 2,000 Fellows and Members of the Institute invite practitioners from all fields of healthcare as well as technologists, decision makers and digital entrepreneurs to join the 2nd Digital Health Institute Summit.

The conference brings together clinical leaders, researchers, innovators and forward thinkers to present the latest thinking, innovation, research and evidence for the advancement of healthcare through digital health.

As an independent voice with over 25 years of professional leadership, the Australasian Institute of Digital Health is exclusively positioned to harness the knowledge and successes of experts in digital health and health informatics.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought into sharp focus the pressing need for health’s ecosystem to be accessible and seamless for consumers, wherever they live. From hospitals to primary and aged care, rural and remote, mental health and social care, digital health will be the way to bring together this fragmented environment.

The Institute acknowledges the challenges and sees the opportunity to be a catalyst for change in a shifting policy landscape. The reality is that the focus on virtual care and telehealth, the emergence of digital public health and the increased need for sharing secure health data are converging to provide a new impetus for health reform.

Through national events such as the Summit, the Institute amplifies the voices of digital health experts and leaders in their fields who share the vision of a connected, patient-centred health system.

Together with our growing coalition of partners and collaborators, we envisage a better future where everyone enjoys healthier lives, digitally enabled.

A message from the Chair Bettina McMahon

On behalf of the AIDH Board and leadership team across our state branches and communities of practice, I would like to invite you to join us in Melbourne, or virtually, at the Digital Health Institute Summit.

The Summit attracts experts and leaders in their digital health fields from telehealth and virtual care to innovation, health technology and precision health. The annual conference is a rare opportunity to bring great minds together and share digital health achievements and successes of the past year from every corner of the health sector.

As health professionals, together we are continuing to face the challenges of the pandemic: From the first months of managing the public health response to the complexity of rolling out the national vaccine. But alongside this we have seen digital health emerging as a gamechanger with the acceleration of telehealth and virtual care, the new focus on health data, the language of genomic testing commonplace and many more ripple effects. The community is embracing digital and – for all of us – there is no going back. I have personally experienced enormous benefit from my digital health network over the past 18 months as I’ve led organisations and programs in a volatile environment.

We all need to be ready for the next wave of change in healthcare and the challenges it may bring. When you attend the national summit – whether that is in person or online – it is a step in the right direction to take your digital knowledge and know-how to the next level.

I look forward to connecting with you when we gather for the Summit in February 2022.

Bettina
