Registration

What are the registration fees for HIC 2019?

All registration fees can be found on the Register tab at the top of the page. Be sure to take note of the Early Bird closing dates.

What is included with my registration?

Full conference registration

  • Catering for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for every day of HIC
  • Access to all plenary and concurrent sessions for the three days
  • Access to the Innovation Expo across the three days
  • 1x ticket to the networking reception (except day registrations) 
  • Gala dinner ticket is not included

Day registration

  • Catering for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for the chosen day 
  • Access to the plenary and concurrent sessions for the chosen day 
  • Access to the Innovation Expo across for the chosen day
  • Monday registrations include a networking reception ticket. If you purchase a Tuesday or Wednesday registration you will be able to add a networking reception ticket during the registration process
  • Gala dinner ticket is not included
Who is eligible to register?

All HISA members and non-members are welcome to register. We welcome all health professionals to join us.

Can I attend the Innovation Expo only?

Trade pass registrations may be purchased to gain access to the Innovation Expo for one day of your choosing. HISA members pay $150 and non-members pay and $200 for the day. Passes do not allow access to the conference sessions and will be available one month out from HIC. 

What do I do if I need to cancel my registration?

Please refer to the cancelation terms and conditions on the bottom of the Register tab. You may be entitled to a refund if your cancelation is within the date parameters. If you do not meet these parameters, we welcome a replacement to the conference.

Are the pre-conference events included in my registration?

Pre-conference programs are not included with your HIC registration, all pre-conference events have their own fees attached. You can add on pre-conference events when you register for HIC or you may purchase them on their own. There are discounts available if you purchase more than one program, these are detailed on the HIC registration page. 

Do I need to pre-select sessions I will be attending?

You do not need to pre-select sessions during registration. All sessions are open on a first come basis for seating.

Can I just attend one session?

Session only registration options are not available for HIC, however, we do have one-day registrations available for Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. All registration fees can be found on the Register tab at the top of the page.

CPD

What CPD points will I earn?

The HIC program will be accredited by a number of organisations. We require you to fill out a sign-in sheet at the conference so we know which organisation’s you wish to claim CPD points from. These attendance sheets are forwarded to the relevant organisation that  granted HIC CPD points. Each accredited organisation may still require you to self-record and register your hours with them post-conference. Please ask at the registration desk as to where these forms are located.

Will I receive a certificate of attendance?

Certificates of attendance are available on request, please email [email protected] if you would like one. 

General

How long does the conference go for?

The conference runs from Monday 12 – Wednesday 14 August 2019. There is a pre-conference event day with separately marketed programs on Sunday 11 August. If you have been invited to these programs and want to attend, registration is on top of your HIC registration. 

You can register for these events when you register for HIC or separately on their own event web pages. 

Where do I collect my name badge?

HIC will be hosted in the new expansion part of the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC). Registration will be on the Northern Concourse. On arrival to MCEC entry can be made from 1 Convention Place, or Clarendon Street (you have to walk the length of the exhibition centre and cross over to the expansion). The registration desk is marked with a red circle on the image below.

I have a dietary requirement. What should I do?

When you register for HIC 2019 there is a question asking for any dietary requirements. This relates to specific requirements such as gluten free, vegetarian, lactose intolerance and allergies. Please list your requirements in this section. At the event, the dietary specifications of each food item on general buffets and/or food stations will be listed. For any requirements that are not covered by the selections available for all delegates, there will be separate station where your meals will be available. MCEC and HISA staff will be on hand to help direct you.

Please note that individual food preferences cannot be accommodated.

Will a cloak room available during the conference?

A cloak room will be available at the MCC Customer Service Desk.

What are the conference and Innovation Expo hours of operation?

Innovation Expo
Monday 12 August: 10.00am – 7.30pm

Will there be posters?

Posters will be situated in the Innovation Expo. A trade floor map can be viewed on the HIC website and also available on the conference app when it is available and onsite signage. 

What is the dress code?

To make participating as comfortable as possible, the dress code for the conference sessions is smart casual with comfortable shoes. If you are attending the Gala Dinner the dress for this is also smart casual.

Venue/location

Where is HIC being held?

HIC 2019 will be hosted at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC) which has multiple entry points.

  1. Enter via the Exhibition Centre on Clarendon Street (opposite Crown Casino)
  2. Enter via 1 Convention place (in the South Wharf precinct)

All sessions will be held in the Gold Fields Theatre with the Innovation Expo adjacent to this.
HISA staff and volunteers will be on hand to provide directions within MCEC.

How do I get to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC)?

The MCEC website contains detailed information about all options available to get to the centre. If travelling by public transport check the website for free zones and ensure you have a valid myki if travelling outside of those zones.

Is there parking?

MCEC has its own underground parking managed by Wilson Parking. They operate 24/7 with the entry/exit points via Normanby Road. For more parking options please visit their website.

Accommodation

Can I book accommodation through HISA?

HISA have negotiated discounted rates where available with various hotels near MCEC. Please visit the Accommodation page to view hotel rates and to book directly through the hotel. All accommodation charges will be made directly to the hotel. Any changes or cancellations to your booking must be communicated to the hotel and not HISA.

Conference app

How do I download the App?

The FREE HIC 2019 app will be available the two weeks prior to the conference. You will receive an email with log in details and instructions.

HISA awards gala dinner

Is the dinner included in my registration?

The HISA Awards Gala Dinner is not included in your registration fee. As you go through the online registration process you will have the option to add 1 (or more) tickets to your registration. Tickets may be transferred if you can no longer make it. Cancellations to the dinner will not be refunded less than 7 days prior to the conference commencing.

Speakers

I’m a speaker, where do I go when I get there?

We ask that speakers pick up their name badge at the registration desk located on the North Concourse upon arrival. You will then be directed to the HIC speaker’s preparation room. Here you will be supported by a HISA staff member and the HIC audio-visual team will ensure your presentation is loaded and ready for your session.
