DIGITAL HEALTH INSTITUTE SUMMIT NOVEMBER 2020
Webinar on aged care
Is digital aged care the next big thing?
The advent and evolution of digital health has improved the use of technology in the acute healthcare space and developed a culture of innovation in the sector. Aged care has not been as accepting of the digital transformation and as a result, as demonstrated in the recent CARE-IT report, the uptake of technology in the sector has been inconsistent. In healthcare, value from digital transformation has been linked with the degree of adoption, and the same applies in aged care.
A “digital aged care” culture change is required to enable aged care in Australia to advance and deliver high quality, safe and effective care to older Australians. In this presentation, we examine a roadmap for enabling the digital transformation potential of aged care in Australia, and how carers, industry, academia, government and consumers can work together to deliver an evidence-based pathway forward whilst supporting local industry and research groups.
