The Department of Health and Aged Care is seeking valued input from AIDH members to help modernise and improve sharing of information to My Health Record.

The Strengthening Medicare Taskforce Report recommended the government modernise My Health Record to increase health information available to consumers and healthcare professionals, including requiring sharing by default for practitioners and services, and making it easier for people and healthcare teams to use at the point of care.

The government is making changes to improve information sharing through better access (requiring healthcare providers to upload diagnostic imaging and pathology) and faster access allowing consumers to see those reports without delay after being shared to My Health Record.)

DoHAC has begun consultation to collate feedback from stakeholders and the community during a pivotal early phase which will be vital in shaping necessary regulations, policies and support mechanisms for successful implementation. It strongly encourages you to participate by completing one or both consultation surveys.
