Getting to BCEC
The Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre has three entrances. The Main Entrance on the corner of Merivale & Glenelg Streets, the Grey Street Entrance, and the Exhibition Entrance at the corner of Melbourne & Merivale Streets. For more information click here.
Getting to Brisbane and around: Brisbane has its own Domestic and International airport and is located 18km from Southbank. There are multiple ways to get from the airport to the city. You can use a local Taxi, book an Uber ride, pre-arrange a private car service or take local public transport (Airtrain).
Getting around Brisbane is simple with plenty of options within walking distance of the Southbank area.
Public Transport
There are numerous public transport options at South Bank. Brisbane’s public transport network TransLink will have more information.
Bus
South Bank is connected to Brisbane’s Busway with buses departing regularly from South Bank and Cultural Centre Stations. South Bank Busway Station provides closest access to the Parklands, Little Stanley Street, Goodwill Bridge and Queensland Maritime Museum. Cultural Centre Station provides for closest access to South Bank’s Cultural Centre including Queensland Art Gallery, Queensland Museum and Queensland Performing Arts Centre.
Train
South Bank has two train stations, both conveniently located on Grey Street, South Bank. Trains run regularly from the South Bank and South Brisbane Stations. South Bank Station provides the closest access to The Parklands, Little Stanley precinct, the Goodwill Bridge and Queensland Maritime Museum. South Brisbane Station provides the closest access to South Bank’s Cultural Centre including Queensland Art Gallery, Queensland Museum and Queensland Performing Arts Centre.
CityCat and Ferries
Take a ride on a CityCat down the Brisbane River and you’ll enjoy some of the city’s best views. CityCats operate every day and stop at the South Bank Terminal on the Clem Jones Promenade. The inner-city City Hopper ferry travels between the North Quay, CBD at Riverside, Kangaroo Point and Sydney Street, New Farm, stopping at South Bank Terminal on the Clem Jones Promenade. If you’re looking to save some cash, make sure you take advantage of the free CityHopper, which visits South Bank every 30 minutes daily.
South Brisbane Loop
The South Brisbane Loop, Route 86 bus service is available until mid-2024. This is a free bus service operating every 10-15 minutes, 7 days a week between 10am – 11pm traveling in an anti-clockwise direction along Grey Street, Montague Road, Vulture Street and Tribune Street.
The buses are branded green and white with two South Bank stops on Grey Street – outside South Bank Cinema and South Brisbane train station.
