Robab Abdolkhani

Passionate advocate for health informatics especially in mHealth and connected health research.

I obtained my bachelor’s degree in medical record administration in 2011 and a master’s degree in health IT in 2013, both in my home country, Iran. In early 2017 I started my PhD in health informatics at Health and Biomedical Informatics Centre (HaBIC) at the University of Melbourne. Plus, I am a fellowship by training candidate in the Australasian College of Health Informatics (ACHI).

During my bachelor and masters, I was involved in several health IT projects on a range of topics including health technology assessment, mHealth specially in diabetes and sports medicine, diabetes management systems, and telenursing. I had a two-year academic career after my master’s graduation in 2014-2016.

For my PhD, I combined my study experience in HIM and research expertise in mHealth to create new knowledge in this area. My PhD explores patient-generated data quality management when patients collect these data from connected health tools such as wearables in remote monitoring programs. Likewise, my research interest covers a range of areas such as health data analytics, personalised medicine, UX, and HCI.

I have so far received several awards for my professional development. I am widely recognised among my family, friends, and colleges for my exclusive skill… strong problem solver!
