If you are an executive and senior healthcare professional in a hospital or healthcare organisation, health department, NGO, agency or a regulatory body, we welcome your participation in the Digital Health Executive Network.
As a senior manager, with current or recent responsibilities in digital health, you have the knowledge, expertise and connections to make a real difference and influence the healthcare agenda.
If you think you could be an emerging digital health leader, you are also eligible for nomination.
The Network is a forum for events, webinars and conversations on topics of specific interest to senior executives – please review the membership criteria before completing the application form.

Eligibility Criteria
You can join the Digital Health Executives Network (DHEN) in two ways, as either a Digital Health Executive or an Emerging Digital Health Leader. There are a different set of eligibility criteria for these two categories, these requirements have been detailed below:
Digital health executives
A Digital Health Executive (DHE) is defined, for the purposes of this Network, as a person who can fulfil the following three criteria:
1. Currently works or previously* worked in a health organisation:
- Defined as meeting the requirements for Australian and New Zealand Standard Industrial Classification (ANZSIC), 2006 Divisions:
- 84 – Hospitals
- 85 – Medical and Other Health Care Services
- 86 – Residential Care Services
- 6321 – Health Insurance
- Entities coordinating or providing oversight to the above, such as a Health Department, a headquarters for a non-Government or private healthcare chain, or a health regulatory body;
- In a public sector digital health agency such as the Australian Digital Health Agency, eHealth NSW, eHealth QLD or Healthdirect;
or
or
AND
2. Currently or previously* perform in an executive role, defined as:
- The organisation’s highest-level executive(s) for clinical informatics (e.g. Chief Clinical/Medical/Nursing Information Officer or equivalent);
- The organisation’s highest-level executive(s) for and/or ICT (e.g. Chief Information Officer, Chief Digital Officer, Chief Technology Officer or equivalent);
- Regional/market area/entity (e.g. hospital) digital health executives for large organisations
or
or
AND
Those deemed eligible for membership based on the above criteria will form 2 categories of membership:
Category 1 individuals who are currently in a DHE role for a health for a health organisation (a, b or c)
Category 2 individuals who are not currently, but previously* were in a DHE role for a health organisation (a, b or c) (e.g. current employer may be professional services, software, medical devices, education/training etc). *The previous DHE role(s) must have been for a period of not less than 5 years.
3. Have responsibilities for digital health
The use of information and technologies to improve the provision/oversight of, or support for, healthcare.
Those deemed eligible for membership based on the above criteria will form 2 categories of membership:
Category 1 individuals who are currently in a DHE role for a health for a health organisation (a, b or c)
Category 2 individuals who are not currently, but previously* were in a DHE role for a health organisation (a, b or c) (e.g. current employer may be professional services, software, medical devices, education/training etc). *The previous DHE role(s) must have been for a period of not less than 5 years.
Emerging digital health leaders
An emerging health leader is defined, for the purposes of this Network, as a person who can fulfil the following four criteria:
1. Works in the health sector, as defined in the Digital Health Executives criteria item 1 (detailed to the left in item 1);
AND
2. Performs at Manager level or higher;
AND
3. Has at least two years’ work experience in digital health, the use of information and technologies to improve the provision/oversight of, or support for, healthcare;
AND
4. Is nominated by an existing member of the DHEN on the basis of being on a pathway to becoming a digital health executive.
