Vocera

The mission of Vocera Communications, Inc. is to simplify and improve the lives of healthcare professionals and patients, while enabling hospitals to enhance quality of care and operational efficiency.

In 2000, when the company was founded, we began to forever change the way care teams communicate. Today, Vocera offers the leading platform for clinical communication and workflow. More than 2,100 facilities worldwide, including nearly 1,700 hospitals and healthcare facilities, have selected our solutions. Care team members use our solutions to communicate and collaborate with co-workers by securely texting or calling, and to be notified of important alerts and alarms. They can choose the right device for their role or task, including smartphones or our hands-free, wearable Vocera Smartbadge and Badge.

Interoperability between the Vocera Platform and more than 150 clinical and operational systems helps reduce alarm fatigue; speed up staff response times; and improve patient care, safety, and experience.

CSIRO

The Australian e-Health Research Centre is the digital health program of CSIRO, Australia’s national science agency, and a joint venture with the Queensland Government. It has delivered scalable, innovative research and solutions to solve some of the greatest health and healthcare challenges throughout Australia and the world for more than 15 years.

The Centre’s high-impact innovations include mobile health solutions such as Smarter Safer Homes, a low-cost, non-invasive sensor, monitoring and support system to enable older people to live in their own homes for longer. The team has also contributed in the response to COVID-19, using bioinformatics algorithms to analyse the genome of virus that causes COVID-19, and providing federal and state health agencies with COVID-19 data tracking and forecasting to support decisions around Australia’s outbreak response.

ResApp Health

ResApp Health develops a range of clinically validated, regulatory approved, diagnostic tools for smartphones that analyse cough and snore sounds.

Our first product, ResAppDx, is an app that uses a patient’s cough sounds and self-reported symptoms to diagnose respiratory illnesses such as pneumonia and asthma exacerbations. Because ResAppDx is software, no additional accessories are required, so it can be used in the clinic on a handheld smartphone. When integrated into a Telehealth platform, ResAppDx can assist doctors to diagnose patients in the comfort of their homes and potentially prevent the need for them to attend at a clinic. We are also launching SleepCheck, an app that screens for Sleep Apnoea by leaving your smartphone next to your bed overnight. No equipment or contact leads are required.
