Chief Digital Officer

The opportunity

Silver Chain Group is developing a new digital strategy which aims to further strengthen agility in the organisation to respond quickly to changing market conditions and the fast-changing health and aged care technology market.

To execute this strategy, Silver Chain has an exciting employment opportunity for a highly skilled digital leader, who is focussed on improving client experience and employee engagement.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief Digital Officer (CDO) is an integral member of the Silver Chain Group Executive Team and provides project and operational leadership in digital services.

The CDO is accountable and responsible for the implementation of the digital strategy and the provision of ongoing leadership, vision, strategy and governance of digital health/information and communication technology across Silver Chain including the ECR, HCM & Finance Platforms.

The role directs and oversees the Digital Services team of approximately 60 employees (including security, service delivery, service desk, technology & infrastructure, architecture and digital projects) and will act as a strategic partner for the organisation’s investment in innovative care and technology trials and programs (including Silver Chain’s virtual care ambitions).

The role also closely interacts with the Future Care Program regarding research, innovation and technical aspects of new technology in new care models.

Key responsibilities

  • Leadership and strategic management
  • Successfully deliver best of breed, interoperable solutions guided by the Digital architecture.
  • Act as a strategic partner for the organisation’s investment in innovative care and technology trials and programs (including Silver Chain’s virtual care ambitions).
  • Advance the digital services team through operational and digital project integration and performance and delivery.

Selection criteria

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be an executive with experience working with Boards and leading multiple teams across the full range of Digital Services related functions to achieve significant outcomes.
  • Have proven experience implementing major complex digital transformation programs, preferably in the health and/or aged care sectors.
  • Have a creative problem-solving mindset.
  • Have strong technical digital technology knowledge.
  • Demonstrate executive level experience in a CIO / GM Technology/ Senior Digital role or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate experience in senior leadership roles, developing and implementing high level strategy, frameworks and policy, preferably in a matrix managed environment with dispersed service delivery teams (preferably at national scale).
  • Prove their executive level of communication, collaboration, conflict engagement and resolution influencing, negotiation and relationship building skills.
  • Show a high level of business acumen and industry and client needs awareness.
  • Demonstrate an ability to manage significant resources and budgets.
  • Be renown for values led, professional, safe and supportive leadership.
  • Be tertiary qualified in Information Technology or demonstrated equivalent professional experience and training.

Additional requirements

Under the Aged Care act 1997, successful candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance prior to commencement.

Based on Silver Chain Group Policy and Government Directions, prior to onboarding applicants will be required to provide evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 including booster, or evidence of a medical exemption to commence employment.
